Baked Figs

PROCEDURE
1. Prick 12 fresh ripe figs in several places with the tines of a fork and arrange the figs in a buttered baking dish. Sprinkle them generously with sugar and add 1/2 cup water. Bake the figs in a slow oven (300 ° F) for about 30 minutes, or until they are tender, basting them frequently with the syrup. Serves: |
